Context
Training needs analysis identified a requirement for more Manager training to support personal development and realisation of talent potential to maximise their contribution to the business.
Provision
The Learning Enterprise developed and delivered The Foundations Management programme. The course delivered general principles of management and leadership to support people in key areas of their career development.
Course modules include:
- Understanding yourself as a manager
- Managing people
- Managing your contract
- Managing quality
- Managing change
- Mentoring and coaching
This course has been mapped across to the ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management
Target Audience
The Course was aimed at managers in their first line management position, and those people aspiring to become a manager upon their next appointment.
Positive Impact
The feedback from the delegates is very positive; they enjoy the face to face sessions and the guided learning that is completed outside of the classroom. All delegates reported that they felt more confident and competent to complete their role, and in some cases, consider their next appointment within Virgin Care. This encourages and ethos of “growing your own”.
