National Apprenticeship Week 2021

The theme for this year's week is 'build the future', with the aim for the campaign to encourage employers to celebrate the diversity of opportunity and value that apprenticeships bring, and how they can help individuals and employees build their future.

As part of the week, we are hosting a range of events and activities to showcase the impact and raise awareness of the benefits that apprenticeships can bring to an individual and the health service.

Sarah Van Der Merwe, Head of Apprenticeships, has worked with apprentices for 10 years, but has never experienced challenges quite like the ones this pandemic has forced us to face.

Sarah said: "Despite the recent COVID-19 difficulties, the Apprenticeship Team have worked tirelessly to ensure that our apprentices have continued to receive all the support they require to succeed. Our apprentices have shown exceptional resilience, rising to the challenges of the situation and constantly adapting"

We have been talking to some of our Apprentices working within Virgin Care and asked them for their feedback on the Apprenticeship programme they have been undertaking.
